The seeds of our partnership with Datasnipper were sown by the company’s commitment to 1% for the Planet, of which SUGi is a part. Looking to extend their support and the possibilities of collaboration even further, Datasnipper is fully embracing the remarkable possibilities that SUGi’s nature solutions bring to life.
By the end of 2025, we will have together created 7 pocket forests in 6 countries! From outdoor classrooms in San Francisco (USA), Cape Town (South Africa) and Sao Paulo (Brazil) to community-driven and planted projects in Santiago de Chile (Chile), Perth (Australia), and London (UK), we’re not only inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards, we’re providing rapid relief for climate impacts like the heat island effect and vital habitat loss.
We’re especially looking forward to sharing the stories of community and ecosystem transformation, backed by impact, transparent, trackable, and compelling data, with this leader in accelerated data solutions and the Rewilding Generation at large.

Hide and Seek Forest
As part of the Barrios por el Clima initiative, which targets heat mitigation in central Chile’s 10 hottest urban areas, this project introduces a pocket forest in Renca’s eastern sector. This transformative green space will provide shade, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen community ties.
Beyond environmental benefits, the initiative will generate critical data on heat maps and air quality, informing sustainable urban planning. By reimagining the nursery’s surroundings, this project enriches the lives of children and families while setting a precedent for equitable, climate-resilient community development across Chile.

Black Cockatoo Forest
Once stretching across the Swan Coastal Plain, Banksia woodlands are now among the most endangered habitats in southwestern Australia. This project brings that vital ecosystem back to life - right in the heart of an inner-city Perth suburb. Less than 4km from the Perth CBD, this forest features a rich mix of native species including Banksia attenuata, Banksia menziesii, Melaleuca rhaphiophylla, Allocasuarina fraseriana, and Xanthorrhoea preissii.
The forest will provide vital food and shelter for birds, insects, and small mammals, boosting biodiversity and supporting both the endangered plant community and endangered bird species, such as the Black Cockatoo. The speed at which the forest grows is important for providing food for them faster, as both habitat and food sources have decreased significantly in recent years.

Billings Reservoir Forest
Parque Prainha Pabreu, located along the edge of the Billings Reservoir, marks the beginning of a new chapter for both the environment and the local community.
The Billings Reservoir is one of São Paulo’s main sources of drinking water, and this project contributes to a broader effort led by the city to revitalize its degraded margins. The newly inaugurated Parque Prainha Pabreu, where these forests will be planted, is part of a larger initiative by the municipal government to create a linear park that brings green space, shade, and environmental education to a low-income community with historically limited access to nature and public leisure areas.
These forests are being created hand-in-hand with the local community, who actively participate in every stage of the process — from planning to planting. And the significance of this goes beyond the neighborhood: in one of the largest, most densely populated, and unequal cities in the world, we are reimagining what urban life can be — greener, more inclusive, and deeply connected to nature.

Star Forest
Star Forest promises a transformative impact on the school, the community, and the environment. Converting a hot, barren school space at Star College into a thriving ecosystem, this pocket forest along the N2 National highway serves as a dual-purpose asset. Positioned strategically, it acts as a pollution and noise buffer, replacing the highway noise with the soothing sounds of birds. The forest brings essential shade, biodiversity and cooling to the area, offering a respite from the heat.
Moreover, the outdoor classroom within Star Forest will serve as a versatile space, fostering both recreation and education, connecting learners intimately with nature. It's a forest that echoes sustainability and holistic growth for the school and community.
