Fairground Forest

Fairground Forests is situated on the school grounds of Abbé Noël College in Eghezee, adjacent to a residential area. Throughout the year, the space buzzes with activity, hosting festivals, flea markets, and community fairs.

Currently, the area is an open lawn that becomes uncomfortably hot in the summer, offering little to no shade. To address this, the school community aims to transform it into a pocket forest, complete with an orchard and meadows. This initiative will provide students with opportunities to spend time outdoors while learning about biodiversity, forest ecosystems, and nature restoration.

During fairs, visitors will have the chance to participate in fruit-picking and share in the harvest. This new green space will significantly enhance the well-being of the community, fostering connection, education, and sustainability.
