An oasis for laughter
The professional laughter therapists at Trapa Trapa Forest in one of the busiest hospitals in Chile have transformed the forest in a haven of fun and pace for patients and carers.
A place of pace for patients, families and care givers.
Approximately 50 people visit, daily, Trapa Trapa Forest. Amongst them are hospitalized children & adolescents who come to do workshops, children with their families waiting for medical results, adult patients of mental health, as well as the general hospital staff: nurses, doctors, cleaning staff.
We envision that the forest will be a lung within the Puente Alto commune. Patients, officials and family members report that in this place they can better handle the uncertainty.
During the planting in December 2022, patients, families and caregivers alike helped us in creating this safe haven.
12 months after the planting, the project is a wild success, used daily by the “Sonrisólogos” team, the professional laughter therapists.
The gardener, who has been working for around 10 years in the green areas of the hospital, is especially thrilled, as are the patients who have come to depend on the restorative power of the forest.
