Tufnell Park School Forest
An educational urban forest in central London.
Children love to plant and education should be diverse and fun. The school forest will be created with the children, who will use the forest as an educational tool. They can learn about the importance of urban biodiversity and all the benefits trees provide, while having the role of growing and nurturing their very own forest.

“Tufnell Park Primary’s 400 children are excited to be hands on with bringing biodiversity into the heart of Islington. We are going to create a living, impactful and educational legacy for the area.”

The transformation of an unused area of the school grounds into an organic urban orchard.
The orchard will be created using heritage varieties of fruit trees along with an understory of wild flowers and medicinal plants.
After a season or two, it’s hoped the orchard will provide the children with their own organic fruit as well as raise biodiversity in the area and provide a haven for bees, pollinators and butterflies.
