Bringing back biodiversity to a monoculture farm

Land Forest
Miyawaki Method
Habitat

The owner of the land is aware of the damages created by intense monoculture to the island of Mallorca. He wants to create an oasis of biodiversity on 800 Sq m (8,700 Sq ft) on this land where life has almost disappeared because of agriculture practices and the semi arid climate of the island.

Planting a forest will:

  • Restore biodiversity in a rural area creating an oasis for birds, insects and animals

  • Enhance education and creativity as the children of the village Cas Concos will be invited to participate to the plantation in December

  • Raise awareness for Miyawaki forest benefits as the project will also be presented to the City Council and the Govern of Balears
