Jalna Road
Dense Forest for a Dusty Road in Aurangabad.
With SUGi, the Green Aurangabad Mission (GAM) will create a Miyawaki dense forest along the Jalna Road in Aurangabad.
The forest will be spread out on an area of 930 Sq m (10,000 sq ft) and act as green-lung for the region. It will increase green cover in the region and native biodiversity while creating a noise and dust barrier along the busy road. It brings together government and private stakeholders along with the local residents to encourage environmental awareness and stewardship.

“This forest air filter and carbon sink is critical in the backdrop of the imminent risk of global climate change, ever reducing green cover, dwindling biodiversity, worsening water scarcity and impending socio-economic crises due to frequently occurring natural disasters, especially floods, droughts and landslides.”
— -Praveen Srivastava, CCF & Dy. DG of Social Forestry dept (Marathwada region)

These are just a few of the 60 native species being planted on Jalna Road.
