This project transforms a 600 Sq m area of denuded land within the paved & turfed grounds of Nørre Gymnasium High School. This pocket will, in time, become a thriving forest ecosystem, giving a boost to biodiversity and the school community.
Nestled in a fragile neighborhood on the outskirts of Copenhagen, this revitalized green space serves as a precious resource for the school's students, providing not only an invaluable educational tool but also a sanctuary for their wellbeing.
The incorporation of this UNESCO Associated School into biodiversity-focused initiatives will foster a sense of community amongst its members and ignite a collective passion for conservation efforts. Together, they will work towards preserving the natural world for generations to come.

The forest supports learning as over 1,100 students will observe rewilding in action, seeing native flora and fauna return to a pocket that had previously been a true biodiversity desert. At the same time, this forest also offers valuable wellbeing benefits, bringing nature closer to young people who have grown up in the digital age.
